  • My Background in Pediatric and Family Nutrition

During my clinical training, I was able to work closely with expecting mothers, my work inlcuded prenatal nutrition, gestational diabetes management, and helping families feel ready for the months to come.

A major part of my work included adapting evidence-based nutrition recommendations to fit the lifestyle of families, so they could confidently and sustainably navigate the new life stages to come, for both parents and their little ones.

I have also worked in eating disorders, helping teens and young-adults rebuild trust and their relationship with food.

  • My Multicultural Nutrition Experience

Coming from a latin-american background myself, I understand the significance food can hold beyond it’s nutrition value.

I believe every person should be able to feel respected in their culture, routines, traditions and preferences when receiving care, and I make it a foundation of my own practice to do my best to meet families where they are at, every step of the way.

My goal is to make my nutrition consultations personalized to families and their lifestyles, inclusive, and sustainable.

  • My Journey Into Nutrition

I grew up surrounded by the culinary world. My father was a chef, and my mother a wonderful baker, skills they combined to open a few restaurants in their life. Most of my childhood memories are filled with the sound of a busy kitchen and lively conversations. Before I knew of food as fuel, I knew it as an experience.

Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that, and food became it’s nutrition value, something I could calculate and categorize. It was the loss of community, culture, and family dinners that struck me the most and motivated me to find my way back. I worked with a dietitian and it was in working with her, and in rebuilding my own relationship with food that I grew passionate about doing the same for others.

Becoming a dietitian has since given me the opportunity to help families and individuals find the beauty around food. I make it my goal to care for each patient’s needs and goals, so they can focus on the community, culture, and experience of food.

Insights into past and present experience:

Fertility Nutrition: My background in pregnancy and family nutrition allows me to support individuals who want to strengthen their nutrition before conception. I can help identify important nutrients, establish balanced eating habits, and create realistic routines that provide a strong foundation for pregnancy and family life.

Pregnancy Nutrition: I have supported expecting mothers with prenatal nutrition and gestational diabetes management. I begin with the foods, routines, and traditions already present in someone’s life, then help make realistic adjustments that support the nutritional needs of both the parent and developing baby.

Postpartum & Breastfeeding Nutrition: The postpartum period can bring significant changes to a parent’s appetite, energy, routine, and ability to prioritize their own nutrition. I help parents establish practical eating habits that support recovery and well-being while adapting recommendations to the realities of caring for a new baby.

Infant Nutrition:I support parents in understanding how their baby’s nutritional needs evolve during the first year of life. My approach focuses on helping families feel informed and prepared as they navigate feeding decisions, changing routines, growth, and the gradual transition toward family foods.

Baby-Led Weaning: Introducing solids can feel exciting, confusing, and sometimes overwhelming. I help families understand signs of readiness, food textures, balanced meal ideas, allergen introduction, and practical ways to begin feeding their baby while choosing an approach that feels safe and manageable for their family.

Child Nutrition:Children’s nutritional needs, preferences, and routines can change considerably as they grow. I support families in building balanced eating habits while considering the child’s stage of development, appetite, preferences, culture, family schedule, and the practical realities of everyday meals.

Picky Eating: Picky eating can make mealtimes stressful for both children and parents. I help families reduce pressure around food, identify possible nutritional gaps, and introduce realistic strategies that encourage curiosity, variety, and a more positive relationship with eating over time.

Teenager Nutrition:I have experience supporting teenagers and young adults, including those rebuilding trust in food and navigating challenges with their relationship with eating. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, helping teens develop nourishing habits while ensuring they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.

Parent Support and Meal Planning: Feeding a family can become challenging when household members have different preferences, schedules, cultural traditions, and nutritional needs. I help parents simplify meal planning, develop flexible routines, and find realistic meal and snack ideas that support the family without requiring perfection.

Family Nutrition: Supporting children also means supporting the parents and caregivers who shape their food environment. I help families establish a strong foundation in nutrition, simplify everyday food decisions, and create sustainable routines that support everyone’s well-being through busy schedules and changing stages of family life.
