Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a bilingual Registered Dietitian licensed in Ontario and Quebec, with clinical experience in pediatric nutrition, obstetrics, gestational diabetes, infant feeding, digestive concerns, and family nutrition.
I have been working full-time in pediatrics, supporting infants, children, teens, and families with a wide range of nutrition needs. This includes children with growth concerns, prematurity, feeding difficulties, oral supplementation, formula needs, texture challenges, and more complex medical conditions.
In my clinical work, I follow growth closely and work with families to make sure nutrition plans are adapted to the child’s medical needs, developmental stage, appetite, preferences, and real-life routine. I have also collaborated with physicians, nurses, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support children and families from multiple angles.
Through my community nutrition internships, including work with food depots and the Salvation Army, I gained experience creating nutrition support with limited resources and working with what is available.
I also bring a multicultural lens to nutrition care. I try to understand each family’s foods, traditions, preferences, and routines rather than making broad or generic recommendations. My goal is to help families build nutrition strategies that fit their actual lives.
My passion for nutrition started with my own experience as a very selective eater when I was younger. I was the kind of kid who could eat the same plain pasta with Alfredo sauce every day for months, and I was not very open to unfamiliar foods.
As I got older and slowly started trying new foods, I realized how big and exciting the world of food really was. Every new food made me curious, where it came from, how it tasted, and how it affected the body.
That curiosity grew even more during my nutrition and physiology classes, when I started learning how different foods impact health. I also became more interested in how the people around me cooked, ate, and managed nutrition in their everyday lives. Many people I knew had chronic conditions, health concerns, or performance needs where nutrition played an important role.
My curiosity, love of learning, and desire to help others feel their best naturally led me to dietetics. My time in the Dietetics program at McGill only strengthened that motivation, and it continues to guide how I support clients today.

Fertility Nutrition: While my strongest experience is in pregnancy, pediatrics, and family nutrition, I can support clients preparing for pregnancy by helping them build balanced eating habits, identify key nutrients, and create a strong nutrition foundation before conception.
Pregnancy Nutrition: I have worked with pregnant individuals in different clinical settings, including gestational diabetes, pre-gestational diabetes, and multiple pregnancy clinics. My approach is to start with the way someone already eats and make realistic adjustments to support both the parent and baby throughout pregnancy.
Postpartum & Breastfeeding Nutrition: My experience with breastfeeding and lactation nutrition has focused on supporting the parent’s nutrition while also considering the baby’s intake and growth. I have collaborated with lactation consultants when needed, especially when nutrition, feeding patterns, and infant growth are connected.
Infant Nutrition:I have worked with infants with a variety of nutrition needs, including growth concerns, prematurity, formula needs, oral supplementation, and the transition from milk to solids. I follow growth closely and work with families to make sure intake is supporting the baby’s development in a way that feels realistic and safe.
Baby-Led Weaning: I have supported families through the transition from milk to solids, including food introduction, texture progression, allergen introduction, and making sure overall intake remains adequate. I also have experience with children who are developmentally behind in food introduction and need more individualized guidance.
Child Nutrition: Much of my clinical experience has been with children from 0 to 18 years old, including children with complex medical needs, feeding challenges, digestive issues, developmental differences, and growth concerns. I help families support their child’s nutritional status while also considering their routine, preferences, medical history, and overall well-being.
Picky Eating: I have worked with children who struggle with limited food variety, texture concerns, oral aversion, high milk intake, or avoidance of entire food groups. My role is to help families reduce stress, identify nutritional gaps, and create realistic steps to support variety and adequacy over time.
Teenager Nutrition: I support teens with nutrition needs related to growth, busy schedules, sports, body changes, digestive concerns, and their relationship with food. My approach is to listen first, understand what is getting in the way, and help create a plan that feels realistic for both the teen and their family.
Autism & ADHD Nutrition: I have experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and feeding difficulties, especially in outpatient and rehabilitation settings. Nutrition support may involve food variety, sensory preferences, appetite changes, texture concerns, growth, and nutritional gaps, and I tailor recommendations to each child and family.
Parent Support and Meal Planning: I help families navigate different preferences, restrictions, schedules, and nutrition needs within the same household. My goal is to support a positive food environment where children can build a healthy relationship with food and parents feel more confident in the choices they are making.
Family Nutrition: Healthy parents = healthy kids, so as a dietitian, I work with parents to ensure their foundation in nutrition and healthy living is established and that they are ready to provide a nutritious environment for their children at home and everywhere they go. More than ever, as parents get caught up in busy work schedules and navigate life challenges, it becomes more difficult to plan their day or week around nutrition for themselves and their kids.
